Crochet QR - Code . . .
I really love the idea of a QR-code, a way of hiding information in a geometric design, i decided i would have a go at crocheting one, unknown what i will use it for, and i am very happy that it worked and can be read by a QR-code scanner on my phone. Can you see what it says?? I used this generator to create the code.
This is marvelous! Any tips to share on how you did it, like the stitch used and if you carried the yarn across the back or worked over it?
ReplyDeleteI was able to read your QR code on my Android phone with the QR Barcode Scanner app; I also tried the QR Droid app but it didn't work.
I worked in single crochet(usa)/double crochet(uk) and made a chart from the generated code, using only two colours or this type of crochet can get really messy, i think its called tapestry crochet?, I carried the other yarn along occasionally working over it to keep the back neat. The real thing scans a lot better than the pictures, it has a tendency to curl up...Thankyou
DeleteHoly moly. I work in technology and we use these codes a LOT. As an avid crocheter (49 years) AND technologist, I fell in love with this the minute I saw the pic. WELL DONE!
ReplyDeleteThankyou, I really want to make a t-shirt with this code printed on but haven't got round to it, you need a lot of precision to get the QRCode scanners to read it otherwise...
DeleteI love this. Have been thinking of making a QR code bag. Do u have a graph or pixels or something to follow this pattern
